Happy Independence Day!
Fished with a friend this morning just south of the shipping channel. When we dropped our first line in the water at 6:30 there were no other boats around. An hour later we had six eyes in the box and there were now 100 boats more or less working the area. We plugged away for the next four hours only to end up one short of our limit. We also caught a couple dozen perch, kept the six biggest from 8.5"-10". Walleye were 15"-19".
Trolled harnesses with 2oz bottom bouncers on two rods and with 1oz inline sinkers on boards on two rods. Both methods caught fish. Color didn't matter much. Water depth was 19'-23'.
Good luck and safe fishing.
