Was there a walleye size limit of 13" on the Canadian side of the Detroit river years ago, when the Mi. side was 15"?

I never remember one. It has been no minimum size limit on the Canadian side.

Alex, thanks for the reply.I worked with a guy years ago who claimed he was fishing canadian side of the Detroit river. He caught a 13" walleye and threw it in his bucket, got back to the dock and was stopped by Mi.dnr, received a ticket for under sized walleye.I believe Mi. size limit was 15".He said he went to court and lost, and had to pay,he was found guilty. The DNR,guy told him, how do I know you did'nt catch that fish in Mi. waters.Your thoughts! Thanks

If he had a Canadian License , (you did not say), the DNR officer will not give him a ticket. I suspect he did not have a Canadian fishing license.
I have personally had 12 fish with two guys and came into the St. Jean ramp. We got checked and he asked us where we caught the fish? We said Canada. He asked for the Canadian license. He looked at them and said "Have a Great Day".
Sometimes it depends what you tell the law enforcement officer. He will use your words against you if you open your mouth too much. Just answer the questions. No more than that. This is my opinion.

If you have been fishing in Canadian waters of the Detroit River with a license from Ontario and you catch a Canadian limit of Walleye then you have to come straight back. Do not stop in Michigan waters and decide to fish for something.  Stop by one of the meetings next year and we can explain it in more detail.
