Houghton Lake is 100% covered in ice as of this morning (Dec 5th). Just took this pic from the North DNR ramp on my way home a few hours ago. Ice at the shoreline is walkable (but not safe). I bet they'll be out on it by weeks end though (local forcast 20s throughout the week). Can we be far behind? Last year I hit Harbor Club next to Geno's on Dec 21st. oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! What a beautiful sight!!! Better start gettin the gear ready. Never fished Houghton before but I'm gonna have to change that. Where would be a good place to head to, leaving from Port Huron?? Thanx again for the terriffic news!!!
