Another nice one.

A few more details. What bait? How far out did you go before setting up, as in how long of a walk for those of us who do not have a machine??

The spot is almost to beacon cove sea wall (north corner) at the second big crack the one with the 5 inch high ice stickin up 9 fow. There seems to be a little more current in this area and cloudy water from the spillway. we also have been pickin up some fat walleye just after dark and a few during the day..big shiners and very small chubs on tip ups have been the hot bait. Set your bait 3/4 way down to the bottom check it alot and move it up and down a foot or so each time. HERES A TIP take a small pair of sissors with you and snip off the shiner / chubs tail it will swim like hell and wont go any where makes it easy for the fish to slurp down your bait.....no sissors out there ? just pinch it off with your finger nails. well gotta go good luck out there.                         got this one on the big white crack.

Here is another tip.  Some people take a tip-up out there with them and put a small perch they caught onto the tip-up.  Take those scissors and cut the perchs dorsal fin OFF.  When the pike or walleye grab it, the natural defense mechanism of the dorsal fin is removed. The hungry fish will not let it go. This works for me.
Good Fishing, MOOSE
