What is/are your favorite Michigan campgrounds (State Parks, State Forest Campgrounds or private) and why do you like them?

The State Parks that I've enjoyed camping at are: Sterling in Monroe; Port Crescent in Caseville; Muskegon; South Higgins Lake; Aloha on Mullett Lake; and Petosky.

I like these parks because they're clean, quiet (when I've been there) and all are on the water.

The only State Forest Campground I've camped at is Reedsburg Dam on the Muskegon River about 4 miles west of Houghton Lake. It's a rustic campground (pit toilets, no showers), but the setting is great with lots of places for fishing and hiking.

If people concentrated on the real important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
